Befriending Our Shadows

Join us in celebrating the longest night of the year by honoring the darkness. This discussion based workshop will encompass how to acknowledge the parts of one’s self that are hidden in the shadows. Students of this workshop will learn how to befriend, understand, listen to and love these darker parts and be given tools to balance their divine light with their sacred darkness, filling both with love.

Full Moon Flow

As the last lunar cycle of 2018 closes with a full moon in Cancer, we have an opportunity for deep reflection and gratitude as we harvest the fruit of our labor from this month and from the entire year. Gratitude Myofascial-Yin Yoga

Women's Dance Workshop

In this workshop, Amalia will guide you to find presence, grounding, power, passion, and joy through the beautiful art of belly dancing. This will be a gentle invitation to dance with your whole body by incorporating exercises for being present and building confidence, flexibility, and fluidity. Amalia will offer demonstrations and allow for time to drink tea, let loose and dance. All ages, sizes, shapes, and abilities are warmly welcomed.  No dance experience necessary. This dance can bring joy to every body at every stage of life.

Please wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in, such as leggings or a loose skirt and a tank top or T Shirt. Bare bellies are not required.  We will be barefoot or in socks. Amalia encourages you to embellish yourself in whatever way makes you feel good – jewelry, a beautiful scarf, colorful skirt, makeup, etc.  Or come just as you are.  

Amalia is a professional belly dance instructor and performer.  She enjoys using this beautiful art form to foster transformation and empowerment in women of all ages, sizes, and abilities.

Parent and Child Yoga

Join Jess, our resident Certified Children’s Yoga Instructor for an hour long yoga flow class designed to teach children under the age of 10 to be mindful on and off the mat. Parents and/or caregivers are encouraged to bond with their child during partner yoga poses and will learn take-away techniques to practice at home.

Pilates for Runners Series

Join us for a six-week series that focuses on strengthening the muscles of the abdominals, lower back, hips and glutes. Each class begins with a 10-15 minute run that highlights the proper mechanics or running, followed by intensive core work and ending with lengthening and stretching the muscles of the hamstrings, IT band, quads, calves, glutes and lats.

This series will help to increase core strength, correct postural imbalances which reduce the risk of injury and improve running endurance and speed.

No prior experience is necessary. Seasoned and novice runners are welcomed and celebrated. 

This workshop series is taught by resident Indigo owner and certified Pilates instructor, Jacqlyn. The cost for the series is $110. Prior registration for all six weeks is required. Class will meet on consecutive Wednesdays beginning 10/17 and ending 11/21. Make-up class on 11/28. Reserve your spot by emailing indigoswarthmore@gmail.com. Space is limited.

Nourishing Transition: Extended Fall Practice

Join Amanda, Indigo’s resident massage therapist, as she leads students through an extended practice to manage the autumn seasonal transition. This two hour workshop will assist in smoothly integrating and releasing what has accumulated over the past several months. Practice begins with an energetic vinyasa flow to release excess energy and heat, followed by pranamaya and alignment support and closing with a luscious restorative sequence to move the body and mind out of the flight-or-fight mode into clarity and peace. All students are welcome and celebrated.

Chakra Yoga Series: An Exploration to Wholeness

Join Danielle in a seven week series honoring and identifying the different chakras while connecting the energetic mind to the body. The series begins by focusing on the root chakra and builds throughout the weeks, ending with the crown chakra. Essential oils, reiki and mediation practices are used to encourage students to align with specific elements of the self in order to heal, grow, unblock and identify chakra excess or deficiency.

Participation in all seven weeks is suggested but not required.
